Summary of Position:

The Project Manager contributes to the company's success by providing strategic planning, project management on design/build projects while maintaining the highest standards of excellence in terms of quality. They orchestrate and supervise a construction project from the sale of the project through final construction within the schedule and budget and works closely with owners, clients, vendors, subcontractors, etc. The project manager needs strong leadership and problem-solving skills in order to lead the process so that budgeted dollars and time frames are met, and outcomes are consistent with quality expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages, organizes, coordinates, and controls the project management functions of projects assigned
  • Coordinates the development of project timelines with the assigned team(s) and maintains proper documentation of tactical project-related activities.
  • Conducts on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel
  • Physically inspects and monitors projects and project worksites
  • Evaluates aspects of operational costs and works towards reducing costs and expenses where possible without sacrificing safety or quality
  • Regularly analyzes actual project costs against budgeted costs for each project assigned, and when variances occur, determines cause(s) and takes necessary corrective action
  • Provides support for accurate and timely project billings
  • Provides on-site project support as required
  • Through personal example and leadership, maintains company reputation for outstanding client service and project quality
  • Enforce/oversee rules, ordinances and regulations. Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, OSHA, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify proper management, recommend/implement corrective actions.
  • Supports and enforces all company safety policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Superior construction project management skills. Knows what is required in order for a particular project to be completed and has realistic expectations for meeting deadlines.
  • Strong reading, writing, and personal communication skills required
  • Ability to read, write, and understand contract language, contract drawings, and contract specifications
  • Strong ability to plan and negotiate
  • Ability to schedule projects, familiarity with Microsoft Project
  • Experience with construction related software (i.e. BlueBeam, Viewpoint, Revit, or Microsoft Project) preferred.

About the Technology Lead position

We are looking for an experienced Technology Lead to help us maintaining company's information technology systems and networks. Your duties will also include technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of computer and telecom systems.

You should have some experience in IT project management and solid technical background, together with good organizational, teambuilding and analytical abilities.

We are open to this being either a Full time or Part time position.

Technology Lead responsibilities are:

  • Install and configure software and hardware, including printers, network cards and so on
  • Evaluate and develop training for IT software, apps, and other tech products
  • Work with Technology Partners in managing the office network and job specific requirements
  • Facilitate the interaction between end users and higher level support
  • Monitor system and network performance and organize maintenance activities (e.g. backups)
  • Organize troubleshooting, repairs and data restoration
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to workflows by using technology
  • Work with Project Management Teams in implementing new processes and software to enhance construction goals
  • Work together with other professionals to maintain standards and functionality

Technology Lead requirements are:

  • 3+ years' experience of working on an IT coordinator or other relevant position
  • Experience in developing workflows
  • Good practical experience of managing IT systems and applications, troubleshooting and repairing issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities with close attention to detail

About the Assistant Controller position.

We are looking for a skilled Assistant Controller who will be responsible for job costing, overseeing payroll, managing project billings, and other accounting responsibilities, including assist the CFO with monthly financial statements, preparation of tax documents, and year end reporting requirements.

We expect you to have good knowledge of accounting principles and be able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively. You also should be reliable, organized and have keen attention for detail.

Assistant Controller responsibilities are:

  • Provide assistance during formulation of internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with inner standards and legal requirements
  • Support basic accounting management operations such as billing, tax forms, reporting and so on
  • Provide assistance during preparation of financial statements ensuring the compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Provide assistance during preparation of budgets or forecasts
  • Help to prepare for the annual review
  • Participate in development of reports for senior management
  • Monitor company's accounting information to detect inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Review and report on the project job costings.
  • Lead and prepare contract billings to ensure timely contract billings as per the Contract.
  • Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Investigate and report project profitability including gain and fade.
  • Assist with overseeing risk management for projects, specifically with subcontractors including proper insurance requirements and lien waivers.
  • Assist with workflow development and other IT needs.
  • Oversee payroll function including be the backup for payroll

Assistant Controller requirements are:

  • 2+ years' experience of working on an Assistant Controller or other similar position
  • Experience with accounting and financial processes (such as budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
  • Good knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
  • Experience with of data analysis and forecasting
  • Practical experience with MS Office, particularly with Excel)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (such as Trimble Viewpoint)
  • Reliable, organized, good problem solver with close attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • BSc or BA degree in accounting, finance or other relevant area; certification (such as CPA) will be a bonus

We are looking for a superintendent who is driven and skilled at putting together successful projects! This superintendent would travel out of state.

A Field Superintendent typically has a minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial role on some type of construction project. These projects may range in cost from $500,000 to 30 million or more. They will provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating multiple subcontractors, material, and equipment while also ensuring that all construction documents are followed, and work is proceeding efficiently and on schedule. They also mentor, lead, motivate, and teach field personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Schedule and sequence subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors in an overlapping fashion in order to reach superior levels of efficiency
  • Offer input on a Microsoft Project Schedule during the pre-con process and the critical path of the project
  • Produce and execute a three-week schedule
  • Schedule and coordinate all required inspections, including those required for our sub-contractors when needed
  • Ensure that each subcontractor is conforming with the contract documents, industry standards, manufacturers specifications and the owner's expectations
  • Understand both the site layout and typical building layout procedures
  • Lead subcontractor meetings when required
  • Perform quality control checks to verify that the work in place meets the expectations of Speedwell, the design team, local municipalities, and the owner
  • Identify conflicts and issues in the construction process and communicate them to the project team for resolution
  • Communicate with the project team regarding Submittals, Shop drawings, Change Orders, and Requests for Information (RFI'S)
  • Maintain a consistent daily log of activities on the jobsite through the daily reporting software
  • Develop and maintain open lines of communication with industry partners such as customers, engineers, architects, inspectors, sub-contractors, and fellow employees
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
  • Identify all forms of site safety and hold all subcontractors and other personnel to the OSHA standards and Speedwell Safety Standards
  • Develop, manage and complete a punch list with extreme attention to detail and the utmost speed
  • Able to put work in place if the situation requires
  • Mentor less experienced Speedwell field personnel as needed
